1. I went to sanfransisco (picture of me at the MOMA)
2. I went to the Natural History Museum and was blown away with how beautiful the minerals are.
3. Got these lovely things for Christmas
4. I went to New York with Dad and Ali. It was amazing. I love that city.
5. I finished my skateboard for art
6. I went to the mormon rollerskating night, so fun.
7. I went to the MOCA in LA, it is a small little thing.

how unchristmas of me

I didnt cut out a single snowflake
I didnt put up lights or a tree in my room
I didnt make a christmas CD, infact I hardly listened to Christmas music at all
I didnt make a gingerbread house
I didnt wear a christmas sweater
I didnt watch Elf, infact I only watched one Christmas movie and that was twenty minutes ago
I havent even had peppermint icecream since thanksgiving
I didnt go sledding of course...Christmas still feels weird without snow
It's safe to say I failed this Christmas season. At least I did pllleeennntttyyy of caroling!

It's been a Spazzy Maddie kind of day

I've been really happy this week. It's amazing what focusing just a little harder on others can do for ya. Today was full of laughter. I was just spazzy and didn't care what anyone else thought. I got my BYU application in yesterday a whole day before the deadline haha. It feels good to not have to worry about that anymore.
I just found some really good bands which makes me so happy, like pictures 3 and 7. One of them is an Australian band called Boy & Bear. I like this song. Also a song by the Wealthy West called Love is Not Enough. Music, music, music.

Yay for Thanksgiving. I am grateful for a full week off of school and a lot of time spent with family and friends. I'm grateful for some solid conversations with my best friends since 3rd grade. I'm grateful for my adorable little blonde Blake cousins and the still adorable Farley cousins. It's funny to see how things change every time I go back to Bountiful. The first time I realized that as Spencer's grade graduated that I didn't know as many people at the high school, but this year going back with two new grades below mine I hardly know anyone. I went in to get a transcript form BHS and they called the office and said, "Yes I'm here with an ex-student Madison Blake." That sounded a little harsh haha, but it's OK I'm a Spartan now. It's weird how most conversations this trip revolved around college. It's an exciting time for us and I can't wait until we're all in Provo together.

Also I turned 18, woo woo.

There really is nothing better then best friends. The ones that you can effortlessly talk to and laugh with. The ones that even though you're in different states, they still get you. I'm so excited to go to Utah over my birthday and Thanksgiving. I'm craving some real girl time. I miss having a small crowd of good girl friends that are down to do crafts with me, or go to the temple with me, who get my humor, who dont need boys to be happy, who have it figured out. I miss it a lot.
and I miss Spencer, this doesn't get easier.
*I'm taking a photoshop class which is lovely.
*I'm in the process of applying to Byu. yup Byu. That is the only one haha. I don't know how to "Tell you about myself" in 200 words.
*I love soup on cold days.
*Best of EFY was a good refocus on what I need to be doing. And it was so good to dance. Everyone just needs a good dance here and there.
*I read the scripture "Love thy neighbor as thyself" in a different way. If you don't properly love yourself then you don't have proper love to give to your neighbor. That was probably obvious to you but maddie just got it.
*I love Simba my car, for all of it's scratches and broken parts.
*I oddly miss the snow. It really is beautiful.
*There are so many places I want to go in the world it is slightly overwhelming.
*I need a good book.
*I want to make a paper mache animal head so badly.
